The OpenCollective platform provides infrastructure for accepting donations and also acts as transparent ledger – that means everyone can see where the money come from, how much money collected and how they are spent.
One more advantage of using OpenCollective is that it is possible to specify donation target –

Clicking this link will navigate you to specific page where you can see detailed information and collected amount –
So, with OpenCollective the project now have more transparency and community can indicate how their money should be used.
