Here is a concept for another character — Baba Yaga. You can find a lot of references to this name in Russian folklore, but in our story this old lady is an outstanding scientist of cybernetics. That strong and unconditional person bears a dark past, directly related to the birth of the main antagonist of the story — Koshchei The Deathless. cool, looks like a fun character.
I can imagine the sort of multi-tool she would have is a SOG. as you can swing/swivel/flip too fold it out thanks to it’s gears http://www.sogknives.com/type/multi-tools.html could make for a nice sec of animation seeing her swing it out — one handed.
