We are pleased to announce that our team is starting work on an animated film based on the Altai heroic epic «Ochi-Bala». The project is being created with the support of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives, and the premiere will take place in September 2027.
The cartoon is primarily aimed at children and teenagers, but it will be of interest to the widest audience. This is a story of bravery, wisdom, and devotion to one’s native land, told through the modern language of animation. Our goal is not only to entertain the viewer but also to introduce them to the cultural code of Altai, strengthen the connection between generations, and inspire sincere pride in our shared heritage. The animated film will be voiced in both Russian and the Altai language.
The central figure of the project is the director and creator of the concept, Anastasia Mayzhegisheva. In 2021, she released a short animated episode (https://morevnaproject.ru/2021/07/01/novyj-multfilm-ochy-bala-epizod-1/) based on the «Ochi-Bala» epic, which served as her graduation thesis. Back then, the audience welcomed it very warmly, and this positive response inspired further development of the work. Today, a strong professional team has gathered around Anastasia, and that very same short episode is turning into a full-fledged animated movie.
